About Gen V and The Boys

Gen V has been canceled after two seasons. The series, a spinoff of The Boys, featured characters from Godolkin University, but Amazon has decided to end it. Although the spinoff is over, fans will still see some characters in the ongoing The Boys season 5, which streams new episodes every Wednesday on Amazon Prime.

The series finale of The Boys will stream on May 20. This final season will bring closure to the flagship show while incorporating elements from Gen V, keeping the universe alive even without the spinoff.

What’s Next for Gen V Characters?

While Gen V has ended, some of its characters will make appearances in The Boys. Series executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg stated, "While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon." This means fans can expect to see characters like Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her allies in the ongoing story.

However, Kripke also tempered expectations for Marie Moreau's role, saying, "Anyone thinking that Marie Moreau is going to become the clutch player in The Boys this season is going to be disappointed." This indicates that while she will appear, her impact may not be as significant as some fans hope.

Future of the VCU

The VCU (Vought Cinematic Universe) still has potential projects in development. Currently, the only confirmed spinoffs are Vought Rising, a prequel set in the 1950s, and The Boys: Mexico. While details about these projects remain scarce, they signify that the universe built around The Boys will continue to expand, albeit without further seasons of Gen V.

As for the characters from Gen V, their storylines may intertwine with the main plot of The Boys. In the second season finale of Gen V, Moreau and her allies were recruited by Starlight (Erin Moriarty) to resist Homelander (Antony Starr) and Vought International. However, their exact roles in the final season of The Boys are yet to be revealed.
