A new rumor has surfaced suggesting that Goat Simulator 3, the quirky and chaotic open-world game, may soon be heading to the Nintendo Switch. According to a recently leaked retailer listing, the game could be arriving on Nintendo’s hybrid console as early as November 2024.

Goat Simulator 3, developed by Sweden-based Coffee Stain Studios, is known for its bizarre premise and offbeat humor. The game was humorously revealed in June 2022, with its title itself being a joke—there was never a Goat Simulator 2. The game officially launched in November 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices, quickly gaining popularity for its absurd and entertaining gameplay.

Amazon Japan Leak Hints at a Switch Port

The speculation around a Nintendo Switch port began when an Amazon Japan listing for Goat Simulator 3 went live in early August 2024. The listing, first reported by Nintendo Everything, suggested that the game is set to launch on the Switch on November 7, 2024. The page indicated that both physical and digital versions would be available, but the listing has since been removed. The game is expected to be published by Plaion, a subsidiary of Embracer Group, previously known as Koch Media.

If this leak holds true, the Switch version of Goat Simulator 3 would be released almost exactly two years after its original debut on other platforms. For context, the original Goat Simulator took nearly five years to arrive on the Switch, eventually launching in January 2019. Despite its silly gameplay, the first game received mixed reviews, while Goat Simulator 3 has been better received, praised for its expansive open world, ridiculous quests, and entertaining multiplayer modes.

What to Expect from the Switch Version

The Amazon Japan listing also mentioned that the Switch port would include the Digital Downgrade DLC. This add-on, which was released alongside the base game, offers players extra content like additional costumes and a digital version of the game’s soundtrack. The DLC originally retailed for $10, and if the pricing remains consistent, the base version of Goat Simulator 3 is expected to cost $29.99 on the Switch.

Currently, Nintendo Switch owners can purchase the original Goat Simulator at a significant discount. The game is available at 80% off, bringing the price down to $5.99 until August 12.

Potential for More Goat Simulator Content

This rumored Switch release is not the only recent development in the Goat Simulator universe. In late July, a Taiwanese regulatory body reportedly rated Goat Simulator Remastered, hinting that a modernized version of the 2014 game might be in the works for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

While fans of the franchise eagerly await official confirmation, these leaks suggest that Goat Simulator 3 might soon bring its chaotic fun to a new audience on the Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops.
