NVIDIA has recently announced a change in its pricing structure for the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service. The change is a notable increase in subscription fees for different tiers. This article aims to delve deep into what this alteration means for subscribers, the specific changes in each subscription tier, and the regions where these new prices will take effect.

Understanding the New Pricing Structure

Effective from November 1st, GeForce NOW will have an adjusted pricing structure. Subscribers can expect an increment of 1 to 2 euros per month depending on their subscription level. For instance, if you are in Europe and are subscribed to the basic Priority service, you will experience a price rise from 10 euros to 11 euros. On the other hand, the Ultimate service tier will have a more significant bump, going from 20 euros to 22 euros per month.

Features of Priority and Ultimate Service Tiers

The two subscription options on offer differ in what they provide. The Priority service offers gaming at a resolution of 1080p and a frame rate of 60 FPS. Conversely, the Ultimate tier allows gamers to enjoy a heightened experience with a 4K resolution and a frame rate of 120 FPS. Additionally, the Ultimate subscription increases the session duration from the standard 6 hours in the Priority service to 8 hours.

Geographical Scope of Price Change

The new pricing strategy is not globally uniform. NVIDIA has clarified that the adjusted pricing will come into effect in specific regions. These include Canada, the UK, the Eurozone, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Czechia, and Poland. Therefore, if you are residing in these regions, it is prudent to take note of these upcoming changes.

Free Option and Founders Priority Program

GeForce NOW also maintains a free tier. This option provides gamers with a one-hour session duration and access to a basic gaming rig, albeit with a lower priority for streaming services. Additionally, NVIDIA is honoring its commitment to the Founders Priority program. Members of this program will continue to benefit from a 50% discount so long as their membership is active.

Final Thoughts

The price increment for NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service may not be welcomed by all, but it’s essential to recognize that the cost adjustment aligns with the features offered in each tier. With high-quality gaming experiences on offer, such as 4K resolution and increased frame rates, the adjusted pricing seems to be justified. As these changes are set to take effect soon, subscribers should review their current plans and assess whether they align with their gaming needs and budget constraints.
