Elden Ring’s latest expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, has introduced a significant patch that brings notable changes to Spirit Ashes, except for the well-known Mimic Tear Ashes.
Mimic Tear Ashes: The Notable Exclusion
Located in Nokron, Eternal City, the Mimic Tear Ashes is renowned for its ability to replicate the player’s build, complete with weapon arts, spells, and items. This ability, combined with stats mirroring the player’s, has made the Mimic Tear the most formidable summon in Elden Ring. Despite this, it is the only Spirit Ash left out of the recent buffs in Patch 1.13.
Comprehensive Buffs for Other Spirit Ashes
Patch 1.13 introduces substantial buffs to all other summoned spirits. These enhancements include increased attack power and damage negation for spirits upgraded to +5 or higher, with further boosts at +8. Additionally, these ashes will stagger less frequently, and some spirits have received individual upgrades to health points (HP), faith stats, attack speed, and unique status effect damages like lightning and fire.
Improvements for Torrent
While Mimic Tear remains unchanged, Torrent, the player’s trusty spectral steed, has received further improvements. The free update accompanying Shadow of the Erdtree now allows players to summon Torrent during the Elden Beast boss fight, a highly requested feature.
Quality of Life Enhancement
Another notable fix addresses a long-standing issue with Torrent. Previously, if Torrent died, players had to use a Flask of Crimson Tears to revive him, which triggered an ‘OK’ or ‘CANCEL’ prompt defaulting to ‘CANCEL’. This cumbersome process has now been streamlined, with the prompt defaulting to ‘OK’, eliminating the need for extra button presses.
Final Thoughts
The latest patch for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree showcases FromSoftware’s commitment to addressing player feedback and enhancing gameplay experience. While the Mimic Tear remains unchanged, the buffs to other Spirit Ashes and improvements for Torrent offer significant quality of life upgrades. Fans eagerly await further updates, hoping for even more enhancements in future patches.
