Sony has finally announced that it is rebranding the "PlayStation Plus" to a one-tier system in June, while the name remains the same. The service has evolved with a few new additions, so how does it compare to the competition. Let's take a closer look at not only how it evolved from its initial form, but how it differs from Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online. Xbox Game Pass Vs Playstation Subscription Looking at the time of the Playstation announcement and the way Game Pass has revived Xbox, it would be easiest to compare the Playstation Plus to Xbox Game Pass. While the two are very similar on paper, there are some stark contrasts that don't necessarily make it a one-to-one comparison and Those differences help to reflect the divergent strategies at the workplace as well as the rebranding will be comprehensively consolidated. That mid-tier extra might be the closest thing to a one-to-one game pass, but it will of course depend on what games are included, how often new games are added, and whether anything from third parties comes first. It looks like Sony is tempting them to subscribe by offering them access to over 400 additional mod games, with the promise of some new titles like the anticipated Returnal and Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales coming back when they come.
