About Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6, developed by Battlefield Studios and published by EA, is a shooter set to launch in 2025. The game quickly became the best-selling title of 2025, attracting a large player base with its engaging gameplay. However, players have expressed a desire for larger maps and additional features since its release.
Season 3 – BF6 Adds Two Classic Maps and Solo Battle Royale
Season 3 of Battlefield 6 begins in May and introduces two classic maps, including Cairo Bazaar, a reimagined version of Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar. This smaller to medium-sized map focuses mainly on infantry combat and aims to create higher intensity encounters. EA acknowledges prior shortcomings in map sizes and states they are addressing these concerns.
The second map, Railway to Golmud, revives the fan-favorite Golmud Railway from BF4, featuring layout tweaks for close-quarters combat. Notably, this map will be the largest in Battlefield 6 upon release. Additionally, a solo battle royale mode for RedSec, alongside a ranked mode for quad queues, will enhance the competitive experience.
Season 4 – Naval Warfare, Wake Island, and One of Battlefield’s Biggest Maps Yet
Kickoff for Season 4 is set for July and revolves around naval warfare. The beloved Wake Island map makes its return, now equipped with dynamic waves and new water-based vehicles. EA has confirmed that players can launch from working aircraft carriers, adding a new layer of excitement to the gameplay experience.
In this season, players can also look forward to Tsuru Reef, a massive new map set in the Pacific. EA claims it will be the biggest map in the game by a wide margin, surpassing even Mirak Valley and the forthcoming Golmud Railway. A spectator mode will also be implemented, enhancing community engagement during matches.
Server Browser and Platoons Coming This Year, and a Season 5 Tease
EA has announced plans to introduce a server browser and platoons, which will allow players to group up more efficiently. Season 5 promises three additional maps, bringing the total to seven new maps by the end of 2026. This also includes two already released in Season 2, Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City.
While EA is set to add a plethora of new content, they will also focus on reworking less popular maps. The community has been vocal about their desire for larger maps, and EA admits that they have included too many smaller maps in the past. Improvements to player progression and combat mechanics are also on the horizon.
Overall, 2026 looks promising for Battlefield 6. The developers aim to enhance gameplay with significant updates and features that respond to player feedback. Fans anticipate that these changes will reinvigorate the community and attract former players back to the game.
