The 2026 calendar rolled over another month, which means we are mercifully one month closer to Grand Theft Auto 6. But May might be the biggest one yet when it comes to excitement for the new game. With the release date set for November 19, players are eagerly anticipating new information about GTA 6 to finally begin to trickle out from Rockstar Games.

May 21 marks Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings call, and many believe Rockstar will want to have some new information out before then. In the past, Rockstar has revealed the latest GTA game’s box art first, before dropping new trailers and more information. For both GTA 4 and GTA 5, the company commissioned artists to create murals that revealed the box art. It’s reasonable to expect something similar, although this time around, the scope may be bigger.

What to Expect This Month

Let’s hop in the wayback machine to April 2, 2013. That’s when GTA 5’s official box art was shown. The cover art has since become iconic, featuring Trevor, Michael in a gas mask, Franklin on a motorcycle, and the infamous iPhone selfie girl. What will GTA 6’s box art bring us from the swamps of Leonida and the fluorescent glow of Vice City? This reveal is likely the first big step we may see this month.

After the box art reveal, we can expect another trailer. GTA 6’s third trailer is anticipated to be one of the most significant video game trailers of all time. While trailer two featured some gameplay interspersed with cutscenes, players still have yet to see actual gameplay footage or details like the in-game HUD.

Story and Pre-Order Details

We could also get more story details about what to expect from the journey of Jason and Lucia. Within these reveals, there may be an official confirmation of the game’s potentially controversial price, along with the opening of pre-orders. This could kick off a full-fledged marketing blitz leading up to the November 19 release.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has called GTA 6 “the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history.” With such a bold statement, expect a lot of advertising to support that claim. Buckle up, GTA fans; the summer is going to be a hot one as the hype train for GTA 6 revs up.
