Introducing the Playerbase Initiative

PlayStation is on the lookout for its "biggest fans" as part of an exciting new initiative called Playerbase. This program gives selected players the chance to have their likeness scanned and featured in upcoming titles, starting with the acclaimed Gran Turismo 7. If you've ever dreamed of seeing your face in a video game, this may be your shot.

Application Process

Applying to be part of Playerbase is straightforward. Participants need to fill out a questionnaire that asks for basic information such as your name, age, and location. The standout question, however, invites applicants to share a personal story about their connection to PlayStation. Whether it's your first console experience or a memorable gaming moment, Sony wants to hear what makes PlayStation special to you.

From Applications to Interviews

Once applications close, Sony will review submissions and invite a limited number of finalists for video interviews. These interviews will focus on the candidates' personal stories and their long-standing relationship with PlayStation. Ultimately, one winner will be chosen for the next phase of this unique experience.

The Grand Prize

The chosen winner will receive an exclusive invitation to a visual arts studio in Los Angeles. There, they’ll undergo a facial scan that will allow their likeness to be immortalized in Gran Turismo 7. Although the result won’t involve driving a car themselves, players will appear as an in-game character portrait, much like other characters in the game.

Additional Rewards

The prize package extends beyond just a face scan. The winner will also collaborate with a designer to create a custom Fantasy Logo and a unique vehicle livery that will be permanently featured in the Showcase menu of Gran Turismo 7. This adds an extra layer of personalization and excitement to the experience, making it even more special.

Future Opportunities

While the current initiative focuses on Gran Turismo 7, Sony has plans to expand Playerbase to include more titles from PlayStation Studios in the near future. This opens up the possibility for even more fans to get their chance to be a part of the PlayStation gaming universe.
