As the gaming community anxiously awaits the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the expansion’s full map leak has intensified the excitement and speculation. Delving deep into the latest revelations provides insights into what players can expect from this long-anticipated update.

Unveiling the Dogtown District

The newly leaked map confirms the addition of the Dogtown district to Cyberpunk 2077 through the Phantom Liberty expansion. This district will be situated as a subdistrict of Pacifica. Interestingly, it seems there’s a redrawing of Pacifica’s borders to incorporate the Dogtown neighborhood. A significant part of this reshuffling includes the Pacifica Stadium, originally a part of the Coastview district in the base game. This stadium now finds its home within Dogtown’s boundaries.

Story Missions: A Glimpse into the Plot

A standout detail from the leaked map is the hint towards one of the story missions, Dog Eat Dog. The mission objective suggests a visit to a construction site located within the Pacifica Stadium. Connecting the dots, it appears that the triggering event of the expansion, the Air Force One crash, occurs at this very location. This could imply that Dog Eat Dog will set the stage for the expansion’s events, potentially acting as one of the initial quests in the story arc.

Furthermore, the Dog Eat Dog mission is likely to precede the Hole In The Sky quest, which was showcased during the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty SGF demo in June.

Key Players in Phantom Liberty

The expansion promises not just a map extension, but also character enrichments. Idris Elba will debut as Solomon Reed, a weary FIA agent, joining forces with the player’s character, V. Their alliance will explore a riveting tale, reminiscent of a spy thriller, unfolding in the new environs of Night City’s Dogtown.

A significant detail to emerge from the map leak is the official logo of the Barghest faction, expected to dominate Dogtown. Previously, teasers showcased a black variant of the emblem. However, the leaked version features a vivid green color.

Preparation for the Release

With Phantom Liberty set to provide a fresh and substantial chunk of content to Cyberpunk 2077 on September 26, fans have more to anticipate even before that. The game’s 2.0 update, launching on September 21, is pegged to usher in a slew of enhancements. From new perks and redesigned cyberware to vehicle combat and an overhauled police system, this update is bound to rejuvenate the Cyberpunk 2077 experience.
