Bandai Namco Entertainment has created a new studio and partnered with ILCA. They revealed the news in their latest announcement. The name of this merger is Bandai Namco Aces. ILCA was formed with the intention to be a video production company, but in recent years, they have been actively operating on developing video games. ILCA owns 49% of the shares of the company Bandai Namco Aces, with 51% owned by Bandai Namco.
One of the most popular games on Nintendo Switch is Pokemon Diamond and Pearl which was created by the development team at ILCA and is memorable for many fans. They are focusing on the latest JRPG project called One Piece Odyssey which will be available on platforms such as PS4, Xbox Series X, PS5, etc.
Bandai Manco Plan
The studio believes to deliver entertaining, high-quality, exhilarating, and lasting gaming content to the gamers and fans. It is lead by Takuya Iwasaki, CEO and President of Tokyo-based studio, Bandai Namco Arts. They are working on a new addition to the Ace Combat franchise. A combat-style flight simulation video game with realistic background and engaging concept. The first edition of the series was released in the year 1995 and has been completed for 25 years. This time, the works on the new Ace Combat game are developed by ILCA and Bandai Namco Entertainment. So, it would be amazing to see the final results of the joint work of these studios.
Takuya Iwasaki states regarding this joint venture, “With the cooperation of Bandai Namco, we would like to pass on the knowledge we have cultivated so far to a new generation in order to further evolve this series that remains in the history of games. The whole team will do their best to give back to Namco, which I have been admiring since I was a child, so I would appreciate your support. Come young, to the sky!”
ILCA Developers
It is not new when ILCA collaborates with Bandai Namco because they have worked on creating cutscenes for Ace Combat 7. However, ILCA has previously produced high-quality content, and fans can expect games with the usage of state-of-the-art technology. Bandai Namco’s website has hinted toward its working model, “next-gen projects using Unreal Engine 5”.
Remaking the original action-packed flight simulation Ace Combat game involves challenges. Also, they are replicating the exact arcade action game using modern graphics and a new storyline.
Ace Combat game
Speaking about the best of both teams, Bandai Namco has created the Ace Combat franchise that garnered achievements and love from the fans. The action, story, graphics, and realism were unmatched, and the studio successfully accomplished that. On the other hand, ILCA (I Love Computer Art) has created mind-blowing video games namely, Skies Unknown, Dragon Quest, Pokemon: Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Code Vein. As a result, the new Ace Combat game in the franchise due to the merger should be exceptional and exciting.
