Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, offers a vast, engaging world set in the Sword Coast. As you traverse this sprawling landscape, the game rewards exploration with various hidden treasures. These treasures may include gold, lore elements, and magical items. While shovels and lockpicks are standard tools for such tasks, sometimes reaching these treasures demands more, such as careful jumps or even combat.

Below, we delve into ten such hidden treasures in the game, offering directions for how to find them and what you can expect to loot. Whether you are new to the game or an experienced adventurer, this guide is intended to make your questing more rewarding.

1. Harpy Nest

Located east of the Emerald Grove, you’ll find a path leading to a beach where harpies are charming a young tiefling boy. Defeat the harpies and traverse past their initial location to find a chest in the water. However, the real treasure is in the harpy nest reachable via a series of jumps up the hill. This nest contains a note, a journal, and randomized treasure, including the magical Ring of Colour Spray.

2. Buried Chest on Cliffs

On your return to the Grove from the harpy beach, you will spot two pillars between the cliffs. Utilizing characters with high strength is beneficial here for better jump distances. Once you leap across, you’ll find a buried chest containing random loot and gold. Even if you fail the Perception check, manually selecting the area will allow you to unearth the chest using a shovel.

3. Buried Treasure in Goblin Camp

The Goblin Camp provides a multitude of opportunities for acquiring valuable loot. Upon entry, take a left turn and climb a ladder to find a balcony filled with paintings and pots. Proceed to the end of the balcony to find a buried chest that contains randomized loot. These paintings can be sold for profit.

4. Secret Cave Behind a Waterfall

Within the Goblin Camp, find a gap in the stone wall opposite the main courtyard. Descend a ladder and take the path to the right that leads you under a bridge. Behind a waterfall, climb a cragged rock to reveal a small cave. Protected by a tripwire, the cave contains various items including an Elixir of Arcane Cultivation.

5. Attic Above The Blacksmith Forge

In the Shadowlands, make a stop at the Last Light Inn. Head up the stairs next to Dammon’s forge to find a locked chest in an attic. Inside, you’ll find the Rippling Force Mail, a heavy armor piece with unique attributes like Force Absorption.

6. Body Under The Rubble

Adjacent to Dammon’s forge, a trapped bridge leads out of the Last Light Inn. Beyond this bridge, a pile of stones hides a fallen Flaming Fist soldier who carries the Shield of Scorching Reprisal, a rare shield offering +2 to AC and resistance to fire damage.

7. Chest on a Rooftop

Exiting the Last Light Inn and taking a left turn will bring you to a ruined house. After defeating the shadow-cursed ravens, you can jump onto the roof where a locked chest awaits. It contains random loot and requires a DC 10 lockpicking skill to open.

8. Easily Missed Chest in House in Deep Shadows

Near the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint, the House in Deep Shadows holds a locked wooden chest with a Ring of Mental Inhibition. This magical ring debuffs enemies by reducing their Wisdom, Charisma, and Intelligence for a short period.

9. Hidden Enemies at a Chicken Coop

South of the Last Light Inn, destroy magic torches around a chicken coop to summon shadow mastiffs. Defeating them yields the Shadow-Cloaked Ring, beneficial for attacking creatures made of shadow or in dimly lit areas.

10. Rare Dagger Found in Hole

In Act Three, at the town of Rivington, you’ll find an entrance to a cave under a bridge. Near this entrance lies a hole containing the Stillmaker dagger. This rare weapon also grants the character the hold person spell, useful for crowd control.

By taking the time to explore and utilize your resources wisely, Baldur’s Gate 3 becomes an even more rewarding experience. With this guide in hand, your quest for hidden treasures is bound to be a fruitful endeavor.
