Sony has recently expanded the customization options for PlayStation 5 owners with the introduction of the Deep Earth Collection, a new series of colors inspired by the profound and vibrant hues found within our planet. In this blog post, we delve into the specifics of each color and the details regarding the availability and pricing of these new additions.

Volcanic Red

As the first color in the newly introduced Deep Earth Collection, the Volcanic Red represents a brighter and richer shade compared to the earlier released Cosmic Red. This new shade appears to have a more vibrant hue, leaning more towards a true red rather than the magenta tint found in its predecessor. Adding to its appeal is a metallic finish, which imparts a glossy sheen to the console, enhancing its aesthetic appeal substantially. This variant seems poised to captivate many with its bold and fiery appearance.

Cobalt Blue

Following the trail of the Volcanic Red is the Cobalt Blue, another entrancing option for PlayStation 5 enthusiasts. This color presents a deeper and more intense shade compared to the previously unveiled Starlight Blue. What sets it apart is a subtle presence of purple undertones, adding depth and a mysterious allure to its overall appearance. Similar to the red variant, the Cobalt Blue also sports a metallic finish, lending it a sophisticated and modern vibe.

Sterling Silver

Last but certainly not least in the collection is the Sterling Silver option. This color does not attempt to reinvent the wheel but instead sticks to a straightforward and classic shiny silver hue. Adorned with the same metallic finish found in the other two variants, the Sterling Silver brings a sleek and timeless elegance to the PlayStation 5 console, offering a subtle yet chic option for those looking to add a touch of sophistication to their gaming setup.

Availability and Pricing

These novel additions to the PlayStation 5 color palette will be available as optional covers and controllers, which signifies that these will not be available for purchase as new PS5 consoles in these shades. For those interested in enhancing their existing setup with these new colors, the covers will be priced at $60 each, whereas the DualSense controllers will come with a price tag of $75.

Sony has scheduled the pre-orders to commence on October 4. The Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue will be made available to customers from November 3, 2023, whereas the Sterling Silver variant will join the lineup later, with a release date slated for January 26, 2024. This staggered release allows enthusiasts to plan their purchases accordingly, ensuring they can get their hands on their preferred color as soon as it becomes available.

By offering a range of vibrant and attractive options, Sony seems to be catering to the diverse tastes and preferences of its customer base, thus enhancing the overall PlayStation 5 experience through personalized and aesthetically pleasing setups.
