ASUS, a prominent name in the gaming industry, recently introduced a series of updates for its ROG Ally. These updates, encompassing both software and hardware changes, aim to enhance the user experience and system performance.

1. New Updates and Variants Introduction: Following the introduction of the more affordable Ryzen Z1-powered versions, ASUS promptly unveiled a new wave of updates for the ROG Ally. It is essential to highlight that ASUS is simultaneously advancing both Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme variants within the same developmental framework. Consequently, all updates and features discussed below are applicable to every version of the ROG Ally.

2. BIOS Update – A Stability Focus: While many facets of the update are geared towards enhancing features, the BIOS update, designated as BIOS 330, primarily targets the overarching system stability. ASUS officially communicated that the distribution of this new BIOS update will commence from October 12. For those interested in acquiring it, the update will be accessible through the MyASUS platform.

3. Armoury Crate SE (ACSE) – A Hub of Enhancements: Undoubtedly, the bulk of the new improvements can be found in the Armoury Crate SE (ACSE). With the latest ACSE v1.3.15, ASUS has integrated new calibration modes specifically designed for the ROG Ally’s joysticks and triggers. These can be found neatly housed within the ACSE’s Control Mode menu. This not only enables more precise controls but also optimizes the gaming experience.

Furthermore, in a bid to enhance the user interface, the update introduces an Anti-Deadzone slider. This feature, designed to augment responsiveness, can be tailored both in the Control Mode and the Game Profile menus. In a significant departure from the norm, the update also facilitates the updating of the Microcontroller Unit (MCU) firmware directly via ACSE, as opposed to the traditional MyASUS route.

4. Notable Bug Fixes: To ensure that the gaming experience remains seamless, ASUS has rectified several previously identified issues:

  • Addressed the delay faced when using an external keyboard during gaming sessions.
  • Resolved the sporadic disconnecting or malfunctioning issues associated with the ROG XG Mobile.

Conclusion: The ASUS ROG Ally stands as a testament to ASUS’s commitment to delivering a top-notch gaming experience. With a series of substantial updates, from system stability enhancements to user interface improvements and crucial bug fixes, the ROG Ally is poised to offer an even more immersive and optimized gaming journey for its users.
