Former game director of Tekken 8
Tekken 8 game director Kohei Ikeda has left Bandai Namco to reunite with former series director Katsuhiro Harada and veteran producer Yuichi Yonemori at the newly formed Vs Studio. The SNK-backed studio announced in May now houses three of the franchise's most senior developers. Their first project remains unannounced, though a fighting game seems the natural assumption.
Kohei Ikeda, game director of Tekken 8, has left Bandai Namco after a 20-year tenure, following in the footsteps of long-time series producer Katsuhiro Harada. Ikeda's departure raises questions about the future of the Tekken series, especially with Tekken 8 receiving mixed reviews for its lack of revolutionary changes beyond the new Heat meter system. Fans and the fighting game community (FGC) await clarification on how the series will evolve.
