Simu Liu has confirmed that the Sleeping Dogs movie adaptation is actively moving forward with director Timo Tjahjanto and production company Story Kitchen attached. The Shang-Chi star revealed on X/Twitter that dealmaking with Square Enix is currently underway, calling it a "total fan moment" for him. The project has progressed significantly since Liu took over after Donnie Yen's version was cancelled in early 2025.
