Pricing Changes and Features

Microsoft has reduced the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month. The PC Game Pass has also dropped from $16.49 to $13.99 per month, effective immediately. These reductions come as a response to feedback indicating that Game Pass had become too expensive for players.

Changes to Call of Duty Availability

In addition to the price adjustments, Microsoft announced that Call of Duty games will no longer be included as day-one releases in either Game Pass service. Instead, these titles will be added during the following holiday season, approximately a year after their initial release. Existing Call of Duty games on Game Pass will remain unaffected by this change.

Community and Leadership Response

According to a statement from Microsoft, the company is responding to a wide range of player feedback regarding the subscription model. "Our players cover a wide breadth of geographies, preferences, and tastes, so while there isn’t a single model that’s best for everyone, this change responds to a lot of feedback we’ve gotten so far," the statement noted. Asha Sharma, the new Microsoft Gaming CEO, emphasized the need for a better value equation, acknowledging that "Game Pass has become too expensive for players." This shift follows a previous 50% price increase of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
