New Gameplay Experience Set in Westeros
Warner Bros. Games has announced Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a free-to-play mobile strategy game set during the era of House of the Dragon. Slated for release on iPhones and Android devices later this year, players can pre-register for the game now, which promises exclusive bonuses upon launch. The announcement comes with a visually impressive CGI trailer featuring Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, showcasing the excitement of hatching dragon eggs and navigating a map of the Seven Kingdoms.
"Only flame and blood will claim the Iron Throne," Rhaenyra declares in the trailer, emphasizing the fierce competition for power. The gameplay snippet reveals a dragon swooping around a castle, igniting it in flames, hinting at the epic battles to come.
Strategic Tile-Based Warfare
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire introduces players to a new strategic framework, involving tile-based warfare as they conquer various regions of Westeros. Set in a world rich with Valyrian lore, players will hatch and raise dragons, build and command armies, and forge alliances. This new narrative allows players to interact with beloved characters like Rhaenyra and Aemond Targaryen, along with Corlys Velaryon and Alicent Hightower, through character profiles available on the game’s website.
The game will feature eight-week seasons, known as Reigns, each containing campaigns and events that culminate in significant story moments, such as an invasion of King's Landing. Completing these campaigns will enhance players’ dragon brood, gearing them up for future confrontations.
Incentives for Pre-Registration
Pre-registration is now live, with ambitious goals outlined to entice players. At 1 million pre-registrations, players will unlock six banner maker sigils. Achieving 2 million will reward participants with 1,000 Runic Fragments. At 5 million, two exclusive avatars will be granted, and 10 million pre-registrations will unlock the coveted Dawnseeker dragon.
As fans await the next season of House of the Dragon, which is set to premiere this June, the excitement around Dragonfire adds another layer to the ongoing saga of the Targaryens. With the show planning to conclude its narrative with a fourth season in 2028, this game offers fans an opportunity to immerse themselves in the lore while strategizing for dominance in the Seven Kingdoms.
