Top Five Steam Games Right Now by Revenue
Windrose, the early access pirate-survival game released on April 14, has quickly become a standout title on Steam. Currently, it ranks as the second best selling game by revenue, trailing only behind Counter-Strike 2. In just six days, Windrose sold a million copies and attracted over 220,000 concurrent players, demonstrating a strong demand for pirate-themed games among PC players.
For context, Windrose's concurrent player count surpasses that of Marathon, which peaked at 88,337. This surge in popularity suggests that gamers are more eager for a solid pirate experience than for Capcom's much-hyped sci-fi shooter, Pragmata, which also launched this week on PS5 and Xbox. While Pragmata aimed to dominate the week with its high profile, it seems the pirate theme has struck a chord with the audience.
Rank | Game |
|---|---|
1 | Counter-Strike 2 |
2 | Windrose |
3 | Pragmata |
4 | Mouse: P.I. For Hire |
5 | PUBG: Battlegrounds |
Interestingly, pre-orders for Forza Horizon 6 have also performed well, exceeding 500,000 units. Meanwhile, Road to Vostok, another indie title, was the 12th best selling game between April 7 and 14 but has since dropped to 43rd place. This fluctuation highlights the competitive nature of the current gaming landscape on Steam.
Last Week's Steam Deep Cuts
Several other games released recently have also captured interest. Before Fate, a time-traveling survival adventure, launched on April 14, featuring a unique art style reminiscent of indie comics. This title invites players to explore various worlds while uncovering a narrative centered around a research institute's quest for universal secrets.
Another notable release, Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts, debuted on April 17, allowing players to illustrate medieval manuscripts in a cozy gameplay experience. Worthy or Not, a Chinese FMV dating sim, was released shortly after and has garnered attention for its engaging mechanics. Lastly, ZPF, a horizontal shmup originally designed for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, also made its way to Steam.
Best Steam User Review of the Week
This weekโs standout user review comes from ItzBothNet, who humorously remarked, "This is my Chair. There are many like it, but this one is mine" on Office Chair Curling. Such light-hearted commentary reflects the diverse experiences and interactions players have on the platform.
