Marvel's Wolverine is a highly anticipated upcoming action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
The game was announced during a PlayStation Showcase event in September 2021 with a teaser trailer. The trailer showcased Wolverine in a dark and gritty environment, hinting at a mature and violent take on the character.
Shared Universe
Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will be set in the same universe as Spider-Man 2. This means that the events of both games will take place in the same continuity and could potentially tie into each other.
"They're all 1048. I think I got that right," said Spider-Man 2's creative director, Bryan Intihar, in a recent interview. "1048" refers to Earth-1048, the designation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Wolverine Cameo
Despite being set in the same universe, Marvel's Wolverine will not feature a cameo appearance from Spider-Man. Intihar explained that this decision was made in order to give the Wolverine team the space to focus on their own game.
