What We Know About Dungeon Masters
Wizards of the Coast is set to launch an official D&D actual-play series titled Dungeon Masters, featuring Neil Newbon and Devora Wilde, both known for their roles in Baldur's Gate 3. The series will debut on April 22 at 6.30pm PT, with the first two episodes focusing on a gothic-horror setting in Ravenloft.
Joining Newbon, who plays Astarion, and Wilde, who portrays Lae'zel, are Mayanna Berrin (Coupé from Dispatch) and Christian Navarro (Tony Padilla from 13 Reasons Why). This anthology series is designed to rotate through different campaigns and possibly cast members, bringing a fresh experience to each episode.
Gameplay Features
Each episode of Dungeon Masters will include a play-along pack that allows viewers to engage with the game. The first play-along pack will be free and released the day after the initial episodes. This pack will feature an encounter planned by the Dungeon Master, Jasmine Bhullar, along with stats for a monster from the upcoming supplement, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, and a quickplay map for use on D&D Beyond's virtual tabletop.
This connection to official D&D releases sets Dungeon Masters apart from other actual-play series, such as Critical Role. Players will showcase various subclasses and content from the Ravenloft supplement, enhancing the experience for both viewers and participants alike.
Community Excitement
The announcement of Dungeon Masters has generated significant excitement within the D&D community. Fans are eager to see how the series will unfold and what new content will be revealed through the play-along packs. The inclusion of popular figures like Newbon and Wilde is expected to draw in both new and existing fans of the franchise.
