Patch Highlights and Surprises
Just a day after Pearl Abyss announced forthcoming improvements for Crimson Desert, a new patch has arrived, delivering many of those enhancements ahead of schedule. Players can look forward to a significant update including a new weapons display option, which allows characters to hide their weapons, and the introduction of skills for secondary playable characters, making them more engaging to play.
Among the surprising changes are usability improvements to the Greymane camp and adjustments to the Abyss puzzles. The addition of hints and better visual cues will help players navigate these challenges more easily. As a bonus, Kliff now has a new ability called Focused Aerial Roll, enhancing his combat repertoire.
Enhanced Playability for Secondary Characters
The patch places a spotlight on Damiane and Oongka, characters that many players may have overlooked. With their new abilities now aligning more closely with Kliff's skillset, players can utilize them for a greater portion of the open-world gameplay. While Kliff remains the central focus of the main story, this change offers players more options and encourages experimentation with different character builds.
Fast travel received a substantial update too, allowing players to teleport while mounted, falling, swimming, or climbing. This improvement adds a layer of convenience that players have requested since launch, making traversing the expansive world much more fluid.
Quality of Life Improvements
The patch addresses several quality of life concerns. For instance, players will now see distinct icons for treasure chests they’ve already obtained, as well as differentiations for visited and unvisited caves. Improved visuals for restored and unrestored Abyss locations will make exploration more intuitive.
