Fallout 4, despite being released nearly a decade ago, continues to capture the attention of gamers around the world. The game, which was originally launched in 2015, has seen a significant resurgence in popularity, largely thanks to the success of the Fallout TV show that debuted in 2024. This renewed interest has led to a wave of both new players and veterans returning to the irradiated wastelands of the Commonwealth. However, as one unfortunate player recently discovered, the dangers lurking in Fallout 4 are as deadly as ever.
The Perils of Fast-Travel in Fallout 4
Fast-travel in Fallout 4 is a convenient feature, allowing players to quickly move between discovered locations in the expansive open world. However, it’s not without its risks. Certain areas of the Commonwealth are teeming with hostile enemies, and fast-traveling into these zones can lead to disastrous results if players aren't fully prepared.
This was precisely the case for a player known as Kay-San-TheNorthStar, who recently shared a short but dramatic video clip of their experience on social media. The clip, lasting only 14 seconds, highlights the precarious nature of fast-traveling in Fallout 4, especially when venturing into the more dangerous corners of the map.
A Deadly Encounter at West Roxbury Station
In the video, Kay-San-TheNorthStar is seen fast-traveling to West Roxbury Station, a location in Fallout 4 that has gained notoriety among the player base for its perilous environment. Almost immediately upon arrival, the player is greeted by a Suicider Mutant—one of the game’s most feared enemies. These mutants are armed with mini-nukes, and as their name suggests, they charge towards players with the intention of blowing themselves up, taking anyone nearby with them.
Within seconds of arriving at West Roxbury Station, Kay-San-TheNorthStar’s character is obliterated by the Suicider Mutant’s explosion, leaving them little time to react. The video ends abruptly, showcasing the sheer unpredictability and danger that Fallout 4’s Commonwealth can present, even to experienced players.
