Black Myth: Wukong Player Hits Max Level and Completes 100% Content

In an impressive gaming feat, one Black Myth: Wukong player has achieved the maximum level in the game, while completing nearly 100% of its vast and challenging content. For a game as difficult and ambitious as Black Myth: Wukong, reaching such milestones is no small accomplishment.

Since its global launch in August 2024, Black Myth: Wukong has been a massive hit, selling over 20 million units in just a few weeks. Developed by Chinese studio Game Science, the action RPG captured attention worldwide with its stunning trailers and unique blend of fast-paced combat and Chinese mythology, based on the classic Journey to the West tale. Although Game Science had little AAA development experience before this project, Black Myth: Wukong managed to become a global phenomenon, with roughly 70% of sales coming from outside of China.

A Player's Epic Journey to Max Level

One player, known by the handle Pyr0pigGy1, recently shared their impressive achievement of reaching level 342—the maximum level in Black Myth: Wukong. Accompanied by a series of screenshots, Pyr0pigGy1's character is shown wearing the Bull King set, with all defensive stats maxed out. According to the player, it took three playthroughs and about 90 hours to hit this milestone.

Interestingly, when they first started playing, Pyr0pigGy1 admitted they didn’t have high expectations, but the captivating story and well-designed gameplay drew them in. Eventually, their passion for the game led them to not only finish the main story but also conquer every optional boss and side challenge available.

The Near 100% Completion

While Pyr0pigGy1 achieved the max level and completed most of the content, they fell short of a perfect 100% completion, with 79 out of 81 Steam achievements unlocked. The elusive final two achievements were blocked by a missable curio in the Pagoda Realm, which requires killing all the lantern heads before facing the boss. This oversight prevented them from earning the "A Curious Collection" achievement, which is necessary to unlock the "Final Fulfillment" achievement, requiring the completion of all other in-game achievements.
