Ubisoft confirmed in January 2026 that Beyond Good & Evil 2 remains in active development after 19 years, making it the longest-running project on a new list of five games trapped in development limbo. The list also includes Squadron 42, Project Awakening, Grand Theft Auto 6, and The Wolf Among Us 2, each with their own troubled histories and uncertain release windows.
Squadron 42, the long-delayed single-player campaign from Cloud Imperium Games, is now available to wishlist on Steam with a planned Q2 2027 release window. The announcement arrives alongside a new trailer showcasing the game's Hollywood cast and blend of space combat, ground operations, and stealth gameplay.
